Jurgen Winter
Jurgen Winter was born on May 1, 1931 in Dortmund, Germany. When very young he started his career as a sign writer's apprentice. During his apprenticeship he furthered his artistic career by attending the classes at the Art School of Graphics. He profited from this solid graphic education which is recognizable today in the carefully exact execution of his pleasing architectural subjects. Toward the end of the fifties, Winter turned to painting all together and completed his education with study trips to Belgium, Holland, France, and through Germany. In Westphalia, he studied the work of Hans Schaefer of the masters of the School of Duesseldorf. His finely balanced realistic landscapes and his romantic villages soon made the artist well known. His oeuvre was exhibited with great success in Essen, Frankfurt, Vienna, and Zurich.
