An exceptional impressionistic depiction of an afternoon along the Jardin des Tuileries, Paris by Jules René Hervé on a summer day with the busy activities of people walking and of figures leaning over the side of the fountain as children play with sailboats in the water. Hervé is known as a painter of the scenes of Parisian life. The Paris captured on Hervé's canvas is the city of poetry, the “City of Lights”. By looking at each brushstroke, is like seeing through Herve's eyes this city of poetry in a mesmerizing impressionist manner. This piece is an oil on board, signed by the artist lower right and titled on verso, it comes housed in a robust ornate gold tone frame with linen liner and hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.

Condition: The painting is in very good condition and has scattered in-painting along the perimeter, with a few tiny spots within the painting with no further apparent restoration. Comes housed in an antique frame and minor imperfections ordinary wear from age.
