Beautiful Collectible Hard Cover Book of Artist Jacques Zucker by Claude Roger-Marx published by Éditions Paul Pétridès including with the dust jacket. Including black & white and colored illustrations of his artworks. Jacques Zucker was born in 1900 in Radom, Poland. In 1913, he left home and made his way to Palestine where he studied at the Bezalel Art School in Jerusalem. After serving with the British Royal Fusilliers he continued his art studies Paris. In 1922 he emigrated to the U.S.A., where he was enrolled in the New York National Academy of art. In 1925 he returned to Paris, studying at the Grande Chaumière and Colarossi Academies acquiring steadily a deeper knowledge of art through visiting the many museums and art galleries at home and abroad. He held 28 one-man shows and participated in numerous group shows. For many years he divided his residence between New York City and Paris, making frequent painting trips all over Europe, Israel, and Mexico. Zucker was a prolific artist whose works are exhibited in Museums and galleries around the world. While being heavily influenced by artists such as Soutine, Chagall, and Renoir, he developed a completely unique style apart from his influences, creating works which are rich in texture, color, and emotion.
