An exceptional impressionistic depiction of an afternoon along the Seine in Paris by Mario Passoni, on a spring day with the busy activities of people walking and of figures leaning over the side to catch a glimpse of the boats overlooking Pont Neuf and at the distance the Grand cupola-topped building of the Institut de France for the Intellectual Academies. The Paris captured in this piece is the city of poetry, the “City of Lights”. This painting is signed by the artist lower right and it comes comes housed in a beautiful gold tone decorative frame ready to be displayed with hanging wire on verso. With ordinary wear from age, otherwise, this painting and its frame are in excellent condition for the time period.
